add google photos to chromecast screen saver

So I had to go: Home app> ambient mode> Google photos> personal photo curation and switch it from 'all albums' to 'live albums only. I've spent countless hours searching forums trying to find a solution to this before I finally got mine to workĮdit: and finally.I got it to display my photos but it was only showing the same handful over and over. Problem: I now have an ambient mode screen but no option to select Google photos To get the ambient mode screen to show you must also make sure you add the chromecast to a room as well as have it linked to your Google account (I did a factory reset, and this time in set up made sure I added my Google account) Solution: when you set up your chromecast you HAVE to link it to one of your Google accounts for the ambient mode screen to have anything on it. All I got was a black screen on my phone with no drop down menu options. The ambient mode screen/menu didn't exist. Then I 'upgraded' a chromecast ultra and it has taken me months of frustration (then giving up and trying again weeks later) to get it to work. I used to have a regular Chromecast, and cast a file of my world building images onto my TV via the chromecast with no problems.
